Zero Day in Kirkland

I woke up around 7am but rolled over and slept for another hour or so. I got up and made an egg and cheese breakfast sandwich on an English muffin. Plus my mom had the fancy passion fruit greek yogurt so I had some of that. I puttered around and eventually went to run some errands.

I started at REI where I wanted to try on some other shoes. I liked my Altra Lone Peaks and hadn’t had any joint or knee pain but those shoes are pretty minimalist so the bottoms of my feet were getting wrecked. I ended up with some Hoka One One Speedgoats which I’ve been calling my moon boots. While the Altras were minimal, these were the complete opposite. They have the thickest sole and I sized up from a 7 to 8 wide. Soooooo much shoe. But it was like walking on clouds.

Next I went to Trader Joe’s to get some spinach and an avocado to pack out. Plus some eggs and chocolate chips for my mom. She made banana bread with her extra bananas haha.

I spent the afternoon updating some social media and organizing my food and gear. I filled out my WA ballot and tried to post some of these blogs (I only got one up).

At 7, Matt came by after work to pick me up. I said goodbye to my parents and went with Matt. We stopped by Pagliacci’s for pizza and ate in at Matt’s place. I recounted a bunch of stories for Matt over dinner. After, I rolled around on the couch and ate popsicles.

We went to bed early because we had to get up to drive back to Steven’s.
