Our time in Italy was sadly very brief. We flew over to Milan because I had already bought a round trip ticket through Icelandair and the furthest west they go in Europe is Milan. But lucky for us we got to see a bit of Italy! We stayed in an Airbnb again a bit out of the city and the host was so sweet and left fruit and snacks for us. The apartment was also in an adorable courtyard.
We left to go find some Italian food. We had pizza and pasta for lunch and walked around. The good thing about Milan is that there isn’t a whole lot to do. We went to the huge plaza and grabbed some gelato. Then we toured around the Duomo.
Katie had the early flight the next day but I wasn’t leaving until midnight. I went for a run in the morning after Katie left and got all my stuff packed up. I stored it at the central train station so I could walk around a bit more. I went to go see a castle but wasn’t really feeling it so I got a slushie and sat outside. And thus the Europe trip came to a close.
