Vienna 2016

August 14th-16th, 2016

Our stay in Austria was the shortest but I’m so glad we made it there. The city was so grand and breathtaking everywhere we went. The first day we put our things in a locker at the train station and went to check out the city while we waited to check into our Airbnb. We went to the Belvedere palace and gardens stayed in that area.

To our horror, there were no free walking tours in Vienna. And we honestly had trouble finding a paid tour. We later found out that Austria has strict regulations on who can be a tour guide, you need like a degree in history and have to be certified or something. We learned a lot about the city but at this point in the trip I really couldn’t keep all the names and things straight. However I did learn that Marie “Let them eat cake” Antoinette’s mother was the Queen of Austria because she had no brothers and she basically ruled the country from bed because she had like 20 kids during her reign. Grl pwr.

I went to check out the ferris wheel in Vienna later and had the worst bubbletea of my entire life. I then joined up with Katie at the Airbnb and we got ready for our bus to Zagreb.
